Family-Owned Olive Mill: Roi has been perfecting olive products for four generations since 1900. We offer a wide variety of the highest quality products. Authentic Italian Experience at Home: We aim to showcase the excellence of Italian and Taggiasca olives with our range of products, from oils to sauces and special creations. The history of the Roi family dates back to 1900 when Giuseppe, the great-grandfather known as "Pepin u Roi," constructed the first olive mill using wood and stones from the valley. This marked the beginning of a journey that spans to Paolo today, who, along with his father, dedicates all their time and passion to the family olive mill. What makes our products stand out? Our 42 hectares of olive groves in the Argentina valley, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, impart unique characteristics to our oils that are deeply connected to the land. Olive cultivation in this area dates back to Roman times. What issue are we addressing? Our oil comes solely from the initial cold pressing of olives. We utilize cutting-edge technology that doesn’t involve heating the paste or adding hot water, resulting in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) with enhanced bio-nutritional benefits, superior taste, and improved preservation. How do we achieve the flavors? Crafting Ligurian quality olive oil is an art, with much of the credit going to the variety of plants in the region that yield oils with low acidity, fruity aromas, and a gentle taste that enhances dishes without overpowering them. Frantoio Roi: Roi is a family-owned EVOO producer that has been in operation for four generations, with olive groves influenced by the Mediterranean woodland, chestnut trees, sea, and wild herbs. The olive mill comprises traditional granite millstones, presses, and a modern mill with cold extraction. Taggiasca Olives: These olives grow on terraced land in the steep hills and cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The oil's taste and scent are influenced by the climate and sea in the region. Monocultivar Taggiasca is derived from the first cold pressing using granite millstones. Friend of the Earth (FOE): Our olives are sourced from selected, certified suppliers who confirm that the raw material is 100% Ligurian Cultivar Taggiasca. The Imperia Chamber of Commerce certifies the oil as FOE, and it is also BIO approved by the FDA.
